Debit Card Fraud

Bank of Dixon County utilizes a third-party fraud detection team to notify customers of any potential fraudulent charges on their debit card. If you receive an automated call from the fraud department, follow the prompts to let us know if the charge was yours or if it was fraudulent. The fraud department will NEVER ask for any personal information, they will only verify if a charge was you or not.

If the charge was yours, your card will be turned back on. If the charge was fraudulent, the card will be cancelled and a new card will be ordered.

If your card is lost or stolen, please call us at (402) 755-2224 to shut it off. If it is after business hours, call 1 (800) 262-2024 to report it lost or stolen.

To activate your card or change your PIN, call 1 (800) 992-3808.

To prevent any fraudulent charges on your debit card, take the following precautions:
  • Use internet banking, mobile banking, or monthly bank statements to monitor account balances and transactions regularly.
  • Do not give your debit card information (card number, expiration date, CVV code, or PIN) to anyone.
  • Keep your debit card in a secure place.
  • Do not use your debit card on websites you do not trust or are not familiar with.
If you are traveling out of the area where you live, call and let us know where and when you will be traveling. We will place a travel alert on your debit card so it is not shut off while you are trying to use it out of the state or country.

If you need the daily limit raised while traveling as well, contact us and we can raise it for the time needed.
Debit card limits are in place for your protection - to prevent large amounts of fraudulent transactions in the event the card is lost or stolen.

We understand that sometimes, limits need to be raised for large purchases. Call us before you make the purchase and we can raise the daily limit to allow the transaction to go through.

The daily limits reset each day at 5:00 P.M.
